Take a journey through time with ABN at 2008 British Pig & Poultry Fair

Visitors to this year's British Pig & Poultry Fair should prepare for a journey to the future, courtesy of the Fair's partner, leading monogastric animal feed company Associated British Nutrition (ABN).

The company's innovative exhibit will take show goers on a journey through the changes the company has gone through over the past few years to face up to the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Focusing on the way the company has changed in tandem with impacts upon the supply chain such as consumer needs and rising raw material prices, the eye- catching exhibit highlights the way the business is now meeting the requirements of a wide spectrum of customers and strategic partners, including producers, processors and retailers.

ABN managing director Alan Murphy points out: "We are an integral part of the food chain and we offer solutions, based on partnership, knowledge and innovation to help the industry maintain and improve productions and margins."

He points out: "We have had to change with the industry to meet the challenges of rising raw material costs, increasing pressure from imports and constant consumer demand for innovative new products."

Walking through the ABN stand at the Fair next month, visitors will see how the company is using its knowledge of the global feed markets to help customers reduce costs, working in partnership with all areas of the food chain to increase efficiency and developing new ways to improve production and add value.

It is also lobbying government and legislators to help them understand all the issues and to keep the industry competitive.

The exhibit demonstrates the company's commitment to niche markets, such as game and the organic sector, as well as its partnership with sister companies, Allied Livestock Marketing (ALM) and Sullivan Poultry Group.

Mr Murphy said: "ABN is not just a feed business. We are providing solutions for livestock producers, engaging retailers and processors and providing raw material market understanding.

"We are also committed to looking at consumer drivers and adapting further to meet the wide spectrum of pig and poultry producers. I hope all visitors to the British Pig & Poultry Fair, regardless of their role within the supply chain, will come what we have to offer."
