UK - Pulses market report
"We understand that there will be up to 60thd/t French beans loading in February to Egypt, with an additional 30thd/t from the UK over Feb-March. With the local harvest expected April to May, and Ramadan in early August, this could affect values," says Ian Skinn, Gleadell Pulses trader.
"Although there is a big demand at present, when these shipments arrive, and stock in Egypt is back to some normal level, the market could find it difficult to find support again.
"Feed beans have been relegated to second base, with premiums being paid for Wizard types for human consumption. Currency at present makes UK feed beans look attractive.
"Peas remain firm with supply and demand still very tight," he adds.
