United Kingdom-120 Sheep rescued.
UNITED KINGDOM-SHEEP RECUED FROM FLOODS.
A flock of 120 sheep has been rescued from a flooded field by the RSPCA in Oxfordshire..
The sheep had become stranded 200 metres away from dry land in floods near Thame.
RSPCA officers helped transport the sheep to dry land with the help of a tractor and trailer large enough to get through the high water.
The animal welfare charity has received 192 calls about animals affected by floods following a winter storm.
"We are asking owners to ensure horses and livestock are moved to high ground in areas where flooding is a risk due to the heavy rain and melting snow," said Becky Hawkes from the RSPCA.
Seven sheep drowned in Thame prior to the rescue, and a further three sheep had to be put to sleep on veterinary advice.
Those which were rescued were treated where necessary by vets at the scene in Oxfordshire.
