United Kingdom-Cattle Semen sold on the internet.

UNITED KINGDOM-CATTLE breeders can now buy semen over the internet in a one-stop shop set up by the British Limousin Cattle Society.

Semenstore.co.uk has been put together for buyers and sellers in the UK and abroad by Limousin Solutions Ltd, the society’s trading arm.

The enterprise will collect sellers’ money and look after the storage, delivery and stock maintenance on their behalf. Buyers can browse the bulls on-site and have semen delivered at the click of a mouse.

All semen for sale will be held at a central hub in Cheshire operated by Cogent Breeding. There are currently 45 bulls on the site suitable for the pedigree, commercial beef, dairy and export sectors.

Limousin Solutions Ltd director Iain Kerr said: "The provision of a new and professional on-line semen service will further improve Limousin marketing and branding and we hope will lead to a wider dissemination of Limousin genetics and awareness.
