The recent emergence of over 2500 farm shops and the large supermarket chains buying local, has caused Waitrose supermarkets to change their marketing policy.
Waitrose have always had a name for high quality meat and were the pioneers of barley beef in England in the sixties.
Waitrose who started out a chain of multiple butchers then supermarkets, are now going to focus on convenience stores, putting them in direct competition with Sainsburys and Tesco.
