UNITED KINGDOM-FARM GROUP OPENS NEW STORE.
THE eagerly anticipated new-look Mole Valley Farmers in St Columb Major has been completed following the final phase of a three-year development, producing a major store extension and refurbishment of the main shop, as well as improvements to the store yard, a new drive-through feed store and car park.
Following an investment of more than £1 million and the creation of at least five new jobs, the completely refurbished MVF branch will be officially relaunched with a ribbon-cutting and plaque-unveiling ceremony on Thursday by Councillor Deran Hancock, the Mayor of St Columb Major.
The newly extended store has involved the main shop doubling in size to almost 9,000 square feet, offering customers improved facilities including a dedicated farm services area, larger pet and equine departments, a new local food and drink section, and a garden area.
I REALISE it’s very short notice, but Ian Bath, of the National Farmers’ Union’s office in Liskeard, is running a local NVZ meeting tomorrow – Tuesday – to explain to members the implications of the extended NVZ rules and regulations.
It is being held at the Snooty Fox Inn at Morval, starting at 11am, to finish at 2pm. More details are available on 01579 342870.
