United Kingdom-Pigs saved in farm fire.
UNITED KINGDOM-FIRE AT YORKSHIRE PIG FARM.
One hundred pigs were saved when fire broke out on a farm in the early hours of today.
Four appliances were called to the Partings Farm blaze, north west of Ebberston on the A170, at 2.30am.
The fire was believed to have been caused by an electrical fault in a barn which housed a tractor, car and work equipment. The pigs were led to safety from a second barn nearby.
Firefighters from Sherburn, Snainton, Malton and Pickering remained at the scene until 4.44am.
An investigation into the blaze was expected to be carried out by North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service officers later.
