UNITED STATES-11,000 PIGS KILLED IN FARM FIRE.

About 11-thousand pigs died in this fire in central Illinois . Two of three hog confinements and an office building were destroyed in Wednesday night’s fire.

Nine-thousand sows and piglets and two-thousand hogs that were trapped died in the blaze.

The pigs were part of a confined animal feeding operation.

The Department of Agriculture is expected to play a large role in the cleanup.

There’s no word yet on the cause.
