Although saddled with financial woes, Northern Beef Packers will open its plant in Aberdeen, S.D., in August or September, the company’s principal told the South Dakota Farmers Union on Friday, according to Aberdeen News.

"We have a lot of problems, but we are coming along," Dennis Hellwig was quoted as saying. "I am moving forward. This plant will be built."

The plant is nearly a year behind schedule and is facing some $7 million in contractors’ liens, the seventh of which was filed early last week.
