NEW LICENCING FOR AUCIONEERS AND CATTLE DEALERS.

The current indefinite licenses for Auctioneers and cattle brokers are now to be changed to five year licenses.

The USDA Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyard Administration are placing the new proposals before the government for approval.

The new legislation will meat that the companies or individuals applying will have to undergo a credit rating and guarantees to ensure that they are in position to fulfill financial obligations to farmers.

This comes in the wake a large number of bankruptcies and liquidations leaving the farmers being owed large sums of money for livestock supplied.

The new legislation will allow the department to keep a tighter control on the industry it is claimed.
