2 MILLION TOURISTS FOR 2009.

Last year 1.8 million tourists visited Uruguay, the figure is expected to rise by over 20% this year.

This is good news for the beef industry, as well as the economy of Uruguay, a country riding on the crest of a wave, in mineral exports.

The boom to the hotel industry, is also a bonus for the catering butchers and the rural community in general.

Many luxury cruise vessels are now visiting the port of Montevideo, the ships chandlers re-stock the vessels with meat, vegetables and fruit for their onward journey.
