Vets reminded of Enzovax offer

FlockCheck 2006 shows that over 40% of flocks tested have been exposed to both enzootic abortion and toxoplasmosis, yet it is a fact that only 18% of sheep are vaccinated with an enzootic abortion vaccine, such as market leader Enzovax®, claims Intervet’s Ian Anderson.

"Many vets find that the initial hurdle for farmers is the cost of whole flock vaccination in the first instance. In an effort to address this, and to support practices increasing their abortion vaccine business, we would like to remind everyone that the 2006 new user deal is running throughout this season," he says.

"This deal was prepared to enable practices successfully encouraging Toxovax® use – sales have seen a significant increase this year – to introduce Enzovax to farmers, as well as for instances when a farm requires just an enzootic abortion vaccine. It means that for every new using farmer, Intervet will supply half the doses free of charge. Practices should also remember that Toxovax and Enzovax are the only abortion vaccines licensed for concurrent use," Mr Anderson adds.
