Anglesey farmers to meet prospective MPs
Anglesey NFU Cymru, jointly with the FUW, is to host a hustings meeting for local prospective MPs ahead of the general election.
Open to all farmers and their families on Anglesey, the meeting will be held at the Bull Coach House, Llangefni, at 7.30pm, on Thursday, 29 April 2010. The event will give farmers on the island an opportunity to quiz the prospective MPs on their agricultural and rural policies.
Anglesey NFU Cymru County Chairman, Dewi Jones said, "Whilst the majority of farming issues are now determined by devolved Government there are still some important aspects determined by Westminster. A good working relationship between London and Cardiff Governments’ remains vital on several issues.
With the 6 May general election and the possibility that we could be facing a very different political landscape, the prospective candidates now have the opportunity to set out their stall and justify why they are the best candidate for Anglesey.
