Appeal for plant and farm machinery entries for August collective auction

High demand for second hand plant and farm machinery and implements has prompted auctioneers Halls to appeal for more entries for the company’s bi-monthly collective auction in Shrewsbury on Friday, August 7.

Halls’ auctioneer Nick Hyne, manager of Shrewsbury Auction Centre, is expecting around 1,200 entries but needs more plant machinery, in particular, to meet demand from buyers.

“Demand for second hand plant and agricultural machinery and implements is currently outstripping supply,” he added. “Our June collective auction was one of the best we have held for a long while and we are keen to build on this success.

“With the farming sector currently under great pressure, it’s an opportune time for farmers to consider selling unwanted machinery and equipment. There is always high demand for genuine, clean machinery and equipment directly off the farm.”

The use of i-bidder, an online auction service, ensures that there is competitive literally from around the world, as Halls has sold machinery and implements to buyers across Europe and as far away as New Zealand.
