BEEF FOR ALGERIA.

President Christina Fernández de Kirchner, was in Algiers in December, where she signed a joint agreement for nuclear energy, with the government of Algeria.

The president also discussed the market for beef in Algeria, which was the main market for Argentine cow beef, until the emergence of the Russian market 7 years ago.

Algeria have been sourcing beef from Uruguay since that time, however with the lull in the Russia market, Algeria looks an attractive option.

The president also visited Libya and Tunisia, in the hope of re-opening both markets again for beef.

Sources with in the Ministry of Agriculture, say that there have been offers placed for Argentine cow beef, to be shipped in February
