Argentina-Farmers dispute unstoppable.

ARGENTINA-

FARMERS DISPUTE UNSTOPPABLE.

Argentine Rural Society (SRA) president Hugo Biolcati on Sunday, said the conflict between the government and the farmers is unstoppable and added that the farmers liaison group which includes the four main farming groups, would support week long protests against the government.

On a television interview the leader said, "The conflict is unstoppable in the provinces as the farmers refuse to go on like this. They want to find a way to get out of the fight however demonstrations seem the only answer".

Last year a four month farm rebellion, sparked by the governments decision to increase soy bean export duties, caused shortages in the supply of food and other products in Argentina.

The initiative was finally killed by the Senate and meant a major political setback for the president and her government.

The liaison committee is set to meet on Thursday, in order to analyze a week long protest presented by the four man farmers groups.

Farmers are now setting their sights on a political agenda, joining the center right wing of politics in the mid term elections, coming up in October..

There are several farm leaders who are going to stand for parliament and the right wing mayor of Buenos Aires, has also thrown his hat in the ring as a potential leader.

Maurice Macri is the son of the wealthiest man on Argentina, who was for many years involved in the meat packing business.
