Argentina-Farmers on the warpath.
ARGENTINA.
FARMERS RESUME PROTESTS.
Farmers in Argentina resumed their protests over the weekend, stating that by the end of the month, they would implement a full blockade of roads and boycott of exports.
Eduardo Buzzi, one of the main farm leaders claimed, that Time is Running Out for the government to deal with the grievances of the farmers.
Since July 17 2008, when the Argentine Senate, rejected the proposed new government sliding scale tax system on corn an soy exports, the farmers have been expecting more concessions from the president.
There seems to be a split within the four main farming lobby groups, with one section looking for support, from the right wing mayor of Buenos Aires Maurice Macri, while the other is courting former caretaker present Eduardo Duhalde.
There is no doubt that the farmers have tasted blood, by their victory last year
Whereas reality shows, it was a split decision rather than a conclusive victory, decided by one single casting vote.
The government have indeed been negligent, in not resolving the situation before it got to this stage .The tragedy is when dialogue breaks down, battle in inevitable.
