Argentina-Farmers sign Deal with government giving peace for the time being.

ARGENTINA-PEACE AT LAST WITH THE FARMERS.

The main four farm leaders met with the government at 2 pm on Tuesday and after six hours of negotiation, in which the President of Argentina attended for a short while, a tentative agreement was reached.

The government held a press conference at 8 pm, that was televised live across the nation and the following was listed.

Production Minister Debora Giorgi said "The government has signed several agreements eliminating export taxes on dairy goods and increasing the export quota on beef and guaranteeing a higher price for wheat sold on the local market."

The idea of a grain council or board to market all grain for the government has been put on the back burner.


The export of manufacturing cows is to be unlimited, the only problem now is finding buyers who can pay before the cow season starts in two months.

There are to be ongoing meetings between the government and the farmers, having taken the issue to limit, both sides now have far to much to lose if there is no agreement.

The farmers are holding 9 million tons of soy and the cow season is only two months away, when the cull cows are drawn from the herds.

The Brazilian beef industry is in turmoil, and Brazilian companies now control 80% of all beef exports from Argentina.

The situation in Russia is looking very bleak, this is the market for 70% of all Argentine beef exported.
