ARGENTINA-HELP FOR FARMERS.
The Buenos Aires Province Government is close to announcing a new 150-million peso credit line destined to the rural sector. The subsidized credit facility is meant to support cattle breeding, the production of dairy milk and wheat growing, Cabinet Chief Alberto Pérez said following a Cabinet meeting. More details would be made public in the next few days, he announced. Meanwhile in Entre Ríos Province, rice producers are to send their first 15,000-ton shipment to Venezuela, to be followed by a second shipment in the coming days, with another 10,000 tons also bound for the Caribbean nation. Rice producers hailed the sale as "historic" not only by volume but also for the full benefit it represents for producers who will reap 100 percent of the revenue, the Argentine Federation of Rice-Producing Associations (Fedenar) yesterday said.
