NEWLY PUBLISHED INFLATION FIGURES.
The newly published inflation figures on Monday, impair the image of the president and the government.
The Argentina Statistics and Census Office (INDEC),announced Monday that December consumer price index reached 0.4% below analysts forecasts and markets estimate, this has further deteriorated the credibility of the President Christina Fernandez de Kirchner Administration.
The latest index from the government office, shows inflation at 9.1% for the last year and 5% for the first 11 months of 2008.
Trade unions and private analysts show the figure at closer to 25%.
Staff from the government statistics office, have accused the government of manipulating the figures, anyone living in Argentina is aware of the real cost of inflation.
