NEW MINIMUM WAGE IN PLACE.

The government of Argentina and the major trade unions, settled on a new minimum wage on Monday for the whole of the nation.

The minimum wage which will apply to meat workers and farm workers, is now US$400 per month, which is an increase of 33pc, on the previous figure of US$300 per month.

There is to be an additional rise if $16 per month in February.

The amount of the rise, reflects in real terms how the government view inflation.

The government official figures for inflation are still at 9pc, in reality the figure is closer to 20pc.
