FISHING PROBLEMS.

Argentina’s Federal Fisheries Council (CFP), called on the National Institute of Fisheries Research and Development(INIDEP), to implement a mechanism that ensures a steady update on scientific information on the fishing industry.

A labor dispute involving personnel from INIDEP, has stopped all research cruises which are paramount to the fishing industry.

There has been 181,000 tons of common hake, landed in Argentine ports for the first 9 months of 2008, fishing is a vital source of export dollars for Argentina.
