ARGENTINA-SOY CROP.

Argentina’s soy crop for the 2008-2009 season is seen at 42.5 million tons, which is unchanged from the forecast of last week now that the rain has arrived braking the worse drought in the history of Argentina.

The maize production is seen at13.8 million tons and the corn harvest will be 21 million tons according to figures released over the weekend, by the Department on Agriculture.

There will be no corn exchange trading on Monday due to the farmers strik and no cattle market to be held in Mercado de Liniers.
