FARMERS DISPUTE.

The most important thing to happen in Argentina this year was the rain that came in the last couple of days, while the news wires of the world are writing about the drought, Argentina is up to her knees in water.

The whole of the wheat and soy belt of Santa Fe is under water, as the storms have swept over the country causing minimal damage but 5 people lost their lives, when a marquee collapsed under the water at an evangelist church service in the city of Rosario.

As farmers are now increasing their demands for a nationwide protest, in regard to the tax on farm exports and the damage caused by the drought.

Meanwhile the vice president, has again taken the side of the farmers in an open conflict with the government and demanded that taxes be reduced on exports.

This comes in the wake of the governor of Buenos Aires making a similar announcement earlier in the week.

Farmers last year held a four month rebellion and all the signs are there, for the same thing to happen this year.

The country is likely to be around 25 million tons light on the grain for export this year, added to the tax on the exports, this is a pretty explosive cocktail that could erupt with very little additional provocation.
