$4.2 MILLION ALLEGED FRAUD.

Gregory James O’Connor, an accountant in Sydney, has been accused of stealing $4.2 million from the Australia Meat Processing Commission (AMPC), over the last 10 years.

The AMPC have lodged a claim with the Supreme Court, for the return of the money.

The Minister of Agriculture Tony Burke, has been informed about the claims that came to light by way of an anonymous letter, which led to a fraud squad inquiry by the NSW Police.

The revelations have sent shockwaves through the meat trade, the AMPC represents 95% of the Australian meat industry
