Australia-Camel Cull.

AUSTRALIA.

CAMEL CULL.

There are over 1.2 million camels roaming free in central Australia, they are breeding at the rate of 80,000 a year.

The camels were imported to Australia for transport, then turned loose after the trains arrived at the turn of the century, in the same manner as the buffalos from Afghanistan that were also used for transport.

Today graziers are complaining about the damage the camels are causing, to the large cattle stations and the amount of feed they consume.

The large and small property owners are demanding a government cull of the animals.
