CONFUSION WITH NEW CATTLE EAR TAGS.

Meat pants and cattle markets in Queensland, have noticed an increased number of cattle arriving with 2 ear tags.

The new electronic ear tags, give full traceability of cattle, they remain with the animal for all of its life.

The confusion is caused, by farmers still putting in the traditional herd ear tags, as they always have done in the past.

Australia and New Zealand have always been world leaders in traceability, there is a new government website now to advise farmers. www.dpi.qld.gov.au
