The heavy rains and floods in some areas of Northern Australia, in the last week after six years of drought, have given the beef producers a great start to the wet season.

This is the best kick off for the beef men in several decades of farming, in the tough outback of Australia. This is going to allow the big cattle stations and the small farmers to build up the cattle herds again.

From the marketing point of view, the live shipping agents just cannot get enough cattle to fill the order books from Indonesia, who took over 700,000 head of cattle and 37,000 tons of boxed beef in 2008.
