Australia-Less cattle on offer.
AUSTRALIA-LESS CATTLE ON OFFER IN MARKETS.
Cattle and sheep numbers have dropped significantly this week at the saleyards in Victoria.
At Horsham, sheep and lamb numbers dropped by 15 per cent, while further south at Hamilton, lamb numbers dropped by a third.
Colac and Bairnsdale cattle numbers also fell.
Peter Costas, from the National Livestock Reporting Service, says that numbers usually fall when a public holiday is coming up, but that flocks generally have been dropping during the drought as well.
He says the demand for yearlings, in particular, is very strong at the moment.
