AUSTRALIA-SHORTHORN CATTLE SALE-

IT WAS a battle of the heavy weights at the Spry family’s Sprys Shorthorns annual bull sale at Wagga Wagga on Monday, with the bidders riding the top bull, Sprys Icons Wagon, all the way to a top of $27,000.

It was a battle of wits between the boys from Marellan Royalla Shorthorns, Yeoval and Godfrey and Laird Morgan, The Grove and Arubial Shorthorns, Condamine, Queensland, to snare the top bull with the Morgan boys coming out victors.

The competition for the top five bulls of the sale was a highlight with the first five bulls averaging $16,500, but it was not the be all and end all of the sale with more than three quarters of the bulls selling at good commercial money.
