ROGER FLETCHER BEATS THE HIGH COST OF FUEL.

The worlds largest processor of sheep meat Roger Fletcher, CEO of Fletcher International, based in Dubbo western New South Wales has built his own railway terminal at his meat plant.

The new terminal and 1.2 kilometers of track, means there is no need for trucks to take containers to the towns main station.

The terminal will also be used for wool and grain, traded by the company along with its 80,000 sheep per week in full season.

Roger Fletcher, says that lambs are making up to 360c/kg euros. in parts of the eastern states and meat plants cannot source sufficient stock.

Fletchers who are mainly mutton producers, killing 10,000 per day in each of their plants, will be killing more lambs this year.

Fletchers export to 95 different countries.

Roger expects the European Union quota to increase by 800 tons per year.

Fletchers operate Australia’s largest wool and fellmongring( wool taken off skins rather than shorn live sheep) operation, buying farmers wool to blend with the wool from their meat plant skins.

This was the worlds first operation where the quality of the fellmongering is so high, it allows blending with shorn clip wool.
