Barclays agriculture goes hands on for lambing time

Local farming business A & D Proctor recently benefited from the services of Barclays Agricultural Manager, Jacqueline Chant as she spent the day working alongside her customer as part of her pledge to find out "first hand" about her client’s needs and the range of issues facing local farming businesses.

Jacqueline swapped her pen for her wellies and overalls to join Arthur, Dianne and Andrew, who run their farm in Swarland Morpeth, to help with lambing time - a tiring and stressful time as any farmer will testify!

Jacqueline Chant, Barclays Agricultural Manager in Northumberland said, "As champions of Agriculture, Barclays is committed to supporting the local economy and I am committed to finding out more about my client’s business to help them achieve their ambitions. The more we know and learn about our customers the better, enabling us to provide the right levels of support and advice when required. Farmer, Arthur Proctor said "During these difficult times it is essential that you maintain close links with your bank and ensure they have a genuine understanding of your business. This initiative has been a great success and allows my bank to fully understand my business and the issues I face on a day to day basis. After a day in the business the one thing I can say is that Jacqueline is certainly a better bank manager than a farmer but she was enthusiastic and did show promise!"
