Bluetongue on the agenda for FUW meetings at Llan and Cerrig

BLUETONGUE and the Single Payment Scheme will be on the agenda when the Farmers' Union of Wales holds a number of branch meetings.

FUW members will meet in Abbey Grange, Llangollen, on Wednesday, February 27 at 7.30pm.

Speakers PC Dorian Roberts, farming communities officer for North Wales Police, and DavisMeade representative Eifion Bibby will discuss their roles in their organisations.

On the following night, Thursday, February 28 (7.30pm), union members will meet at the Parish Room in Cerrigydrudion when Einir Williams, farm liaison officer for the Welsh Assembly Government, and Bala vet Rhys Jones will discuss their jobs.

Advice will be given to members on issues in the farming industry including bluetongue, Single Payment Scheme and double tagging.


County executive officer Gareth Wyn Jones said: "We hope these meetings will be both interesting and informative to our members.
