Board Strengthened By New Appointments
The New Forest Agricultural Show Society, at their AGM last week, elected two new members to serve on the Board. Kirsty Slocombe and Peter Bailey were unanimously voted in at the meeting, bringing welcomed new talents to this Society.
Kirsty is a well known local catering expert. Following catering college she ran the Pony Tea Rooms in Lyndhurst before she started her own catering business. She has been on the catering committee of the Show for over twenty years and Vice Chairman for a total of five years. When Judy Morgan stood down as Chairman of this committee, after many years service, Kirsty was the obvious choice to succeed her.
Peter Bailey is another long standing member, though he is best known for his post as Farm Manager for the Merrick Estates where he has worked since 1985. Peter is Chairman of the vintage steam section and has been responsible for transforming this area of the Show, building it into a heritage exhibition of working steam machinery that is a magnet for young and old.
The New Forest Agricultural Show Society welcomes Kirsty and Peter to the Board.
The New Forest & Hampshire County Show will be held at New Park, Brockenhurst on Tuesday 29th to Thursday 31st July. For all enquiries please call the showground office on 01590 622400.
