Bolivian voters embraced the new constitution on Sunday night as the vote came in at 57% in favour of the president and the land reforms for the peasant Indian farmers.

The charter passed easily in the country where many can still remember when Indians were forbidden to vote.

President Morales and ex farmer and the first Indian president of the nation, which is still the poorest in South America has succeeded in improving the plight and conditions of the native people.

Farming is booming and so is the export of natural gas and the export of live cattle to Iran.
