Book reflects on farming life

A pensioner whose sister died shortly after giving birth has written a book about her relatives – so her niece can learn about the family she has never met.

Elizabeth Suckling presented a copy of Woolly Hats and Wellies to Deborah Ritchie, who began tracing her roots at the age of 50.

Mrs Suckling, 75, from Lingdale, near Guisborough, east Cleveland, said the book spanned more than 70 years of her life.
