Boy, 5, dies in farm accident

five-year-old boy died Saturday in a farm accident which an RCMP officer said was a horrendous trauma for the boy's family.

Leduc RCMP say the child was injured as a result of an incident involving a utility trailer.

First inkling of the tragedy came just after 2 p.m. when police and STARS Air Ambulance received a report that a boy had received critical head injuries on his family's farm, about two kilometres north of Beaumont.

Paramedics attempted to revive the child but he died at the scene. By the time the STARS helicopter landed, the crew was told that their services were not required.
