Brazil-Beef bound for Egypt.
BRAZIL.
C0TRIL GROUP.
The Cotril Group, are the largest producers of feed-lot cattle in Brazil, turning out close to 5,000 head of cattle per week, ready for the processing plants.
Since December of 2007, the company has been slaughtering and marketing around 2,000 cattle per week themselves, as opposed to selling to the countries major beef processors.
Having said this, 3,000 cattle per week are still marketed through meat companies.
The company has forged an alliance with Egypt, and the first two containers of beef were shipped this week.
The company is going to pursue the Middle East markets, in preference to those of Europe, leaving them with less cut throat competition from the big players in the Brazilian beef trade.
The beauty of the companies policy is, that its is farm gate to end user, with no one in the middle, this gives them two major advantages, first traceability and second higher profit yields.
