FERTILIZER COSTS.

Fertilizer sales in Brazil soared 11% in 2008 compared to 2007.

In spite of the doubling in price, November sales totaled 2.45 million tons.

In the first nine months of 2008, farmers purchased 13.9 million tons of fertilizer, which is an increase of 20% on 2007.

Brazil is the worlds main producer of coffee, sugar cane and soy beans, as well as the second largest user of fertilizer, behind the United States.
