Brazil-Increased grain planting has no effect on beef production.
Brazil.
Grain planting cuts into beef.
Despite the loss of considerable pasture land to the soy crop, there is still some 10 million hectares available for cattle, land that is not being used to its full advantage.
Beef shipments are forecast to rise by 32pc in the next 10 years, according to new figures released by the government this week. The projections for estimated beef exports, could be even higher, depending on access to markets.
Cattle numbers will increase by 15 million head in the next 10 years, pasture land will drop as the use of feedlots increases.Feedlot cattle will be produced 6 months faster than the traditional grass fed cattle, meaning the beef turnaround cycle is going to be much faster.
