The Brazilian beef giant JBS Swift, have raised an additional US$170 million in recent weeks in new capital. The company has advised its shareholders, that arrangements have been made in regard to American Depositary Receipt (ADR), this will be followed by the companies listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
A company spokesman said, "the new listing will not only increase liquidity, it will also increase visibility of the companies shares". The company will trade on the New York exchange, under the name "JBSAY".
There are expected to be massive losses in the last quarter, for Smithfield Foods, who sold their beef operation to JBS-Swift for $565 million.
Tyson Foods, are now in a good position to pick up more poultry business by default of the largest poultry processor in the country, equally JBS-Swift will be picking up more beef business.
