BRAZIL-MEAT PACKERS IN TALKS.
-Brazilian meatpackers Marfrig (MRFG3.BR) and Bertin are in talks that could result in a merger, financial daily Valor Economico reported Tuesday. According to the newspaper, which cited unnamed sources, the companies have been in talks for several months. A possible merger would have the financial support of the Brazilian government’s National Development Bank, or BNDES.
