SUGAR EXPORTS.

There were 38 vessels lined up in San Paulo on Thursday, to start loading 730,000 tons of sugars bound for Asia.

This is down from last weeks line up of 43 vessels, that loaded 993,000 tons.

The port of Santos is loading 494,400 tons this week opposed to 721,000 tons last week.

The drop in the export of sugar is being caused by buyers unable to open letters of credit, due to the economic global crisis.

Of the total sugar exports this week 510,380 tons are in bulk, while 220,150 tons are bagged sugar.
