UK COMPANIES TARGET BRAZIL..
The representatives of a group of English fishing companies along with the representative from Carefour Supermarkets, were in Brazil recently in a bid to establish trade ties with the Brazilian fishing industry.
Brazil which has changed from a net fish exporter, to a net fish importer has 150 Carrefour stores in the country, with meat prices getting higher people are turning to fish as an alternative staple.
The UK is one of the most important investors in Brazil and many of the large UK corporations have established operations in the country.
Joint trade between Brazil and the UK accounts for US$5.2 billion a year.
