Brisk trade for first collective sale of the year

The first collective sale of farm and horticultural machinery, plant and equipment in 2009 at Stone, near Kidderminster met with a brisk trade from a strong complement of buyers on January 30.

Tractor sales included a Ford 3600 for £1,500, a Ford 3600, which had been on scraper duties all its life, made £1,200 and a non-running Ferguson T20 diesel made £820.

A Toyota Hilux (K reg) made £920, a Land Rover 110 (L reg) £850 and a Land Rover Freelander XEDi (R reg) £900. Seven Ifor Williams flat bed/plant trailers sold for between £800 and £1,300 each.

In the farm machinery section, a Collins 10T tipping trailer sold for £1,950, a Dowdeswell five furrow reversible plough £1,100, a Marshall rotary manure spreader £850, a Fraser 850 Muckmaster spreader £550 and a diesel powered pedestrian sweeper £400.

Approximately 100 lots of new hydraulic and associated spares and sundries together with a range of gates, hay racks and sheep equipment attracted much attention.


In addition to the machinery, trailers and vehicles, around 1,000 lots of timber, steel, building materials, garden equipment, fencing and other materials were offered for sale by the three auctioneers on duty from Halls in Kidderminster.
