Buckley joins farm watch scheme

A crime prevention team has launched its second "farm watch" initiative.

Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch joined community leaders, police officers, farmers and association president, former Alyn and Deeside MP, Lord Barry Jones, at the launch of Buckley's farm watch.

The scheme was introduced in Cilcain earlier this year and since then there have been five arrests relating to farm crime.

Buckley has now become the second farm-watch area.

Watch co-ordinator Peter Shone said the aims of the scheme are to prevent crime, improve communication between farmers and to strengthen community spirit.
