Calvert makes Atkinson agriculture critic

Former Saskatchewan premier Lorne Calvert and his New Democrats are getting ready for life as the official Opposition.

On Monday, Calvert, the leader of the Opposition, named his shadow cabinet, making Pat Atkinson the critic for agriculture, in addition to her duties as deputy leader of the Opposition.

Calvert said his party will be actively trying to rebuild in rural Saskatchewan and Atkinson will be a big part of that plan. Atkinson is a veteran MLA who has held a number of portfolios in the NDP government, including finance minister.
