Canada-Contaminated meat victims recieve $25 million.

MEAT RE-CALL VICTIMS GET CAN$27 MILLION.

Victims of the largest meat re-call in the history of the Canadian meat industry, settled class action law suits on Thursday, when accepted CAN$25 (US$30.28 million) million in compensation.

The contaminated meat, was traced to the processing plant of Maple Leaf Foods, in Toronto, where listoriosos was linked to dirty meat slicing machines.

22 people died and the exact figure is still unclear, of people that were hospitalized with listeriosis.

220 different food products were re-called, over 70 people hospitalized in August of this year.

On August 19, the Canadian Food Inspection Service, issued a recall of all Maple Leaf products from the plant in Toronto.
