Farmers from Canada ’s leading beef province have just received a $30 million stimulus package.

Alberta is home to most of the Canadian beef herd, which contributes billions of dollars to the national economy.

The Alberta Livestock and Meat Agency announced five new programs focusing on market development, research, and on-farm technology programs.

Money will be spent on areas such as training farmers in new electronic equipment, research in animal health, trade shows to promote Canadian beef, and developing labels for exported product.
