Canada-Tyson deal complete.

Tyson Foods says it has completed the sale of its Lakeside Farm Industries operation in Alberta to Calgary-based XL Foods.

The sale of the plant at Brooks -- one of Canada’s largest beef-processing operations -- was announced last June.

At that time Tyson said the deal was worth about $107 million Canadian dollars -- but since then the Canadian dollar has lost a lot of value against the US dollar.

XL is part of the Nilsson Brothers Group, a Canadian cattle-feeding and marketing company.
